Fourth of July Finds From a KickItBack User

June 28, 2012

We thought we’d do something a little different on the blog today. Instead of rambling on about all of the things that make KickItBack awesome, we’re letting one of our users do the talking for us! Jenny has been a KickItBack user for a while now, so it’s safe to say she knows the ins and outs of earning cash back when shopping online.

With the Fourth of July right around the corner, she thought it would be the perfect time to share some of her ideas for that perfect beach getaway. Take it away, Jenny!

If your Independence Day plans include a day at the beach, you probably know that it takes a ton of gear to really make the most of your sandy celebration.

Personally, I love the idea of a lake vacation, but since my family lives pretty far from most large bodies of water, there are a lot of items that I need to stock up on before we attempt our getaway.

I was hoping to spend our vacation budget on activities instead of supplies, so I went to KickItBack to see what kind of deals I could find for our family’s Fourth of July lake adventure.  Here are some of my favorites!

Baby Earth

I loved this Melissa and Doug travel Bingo game from Baby Earth.  Since motion sickness and movie watching in the car don’t blend well for our family, I liked that this game kept the kids looking out of the car windows as they hunted for Bingo objects.

The $15.95 set includes 2 game boards and 8 different inserts, and should be great while we all wait for the Dramamine sleepiness to kick in. Plus, I’ll earn 3% cash back, thanks to KickItBack!

The Land of Nod

I am a packer.  Not the adorable green and yellow kind who win Superbowls, but the kind of packer who insists on bringing everything they possibly can to any given location.  Instead of cutting back on lake toys or blankets, I’ve decided to ignore my over-packing addiction and simply invest in a new tote bag to help me schlep in style.

The Land of Nod has this adorable #5 Shoulder Tote that’s on sale for $11.95.  The fabric and reinforced bottom floor panel are made of 100% consumer recycled polypropylene which will help with the sandy shore conditions or any rogue cannonball splashes. The zippered closure is also one of my favorite features and should help keep things tidy in case the lake breeze picks up. Earning 3.5% cash back with KickItBack makes this deal even more awesome!

Target

Let me just get this out of the way: I am an avid Target shopper, and even though I have a store just minutes from my house, I love checking out their online deals through KickItBack. I particularly love finding special sale items, the free shipping and earning 1.5% cash back!

My family really needs to replace our ice chest, as we’ve been coddling a cooler that doesn’t exactly close for way too long. I really like this Coleman Personal Wheeled 16 Qt Cooler for $22.59; it’s blue and white too, so it will match the Fourth of July decor!

I stumbled across an online Target deal that lets you take 15% off qualifying Coleman, Stearns and Aerobed products with the promo code YEJZUX4S, but the code will only work through this Saturday, June 30, so I need to place my order soon!

Old Navy

My last online shopping stop will be at Old Navy, where I’m hoping to earn my 2.0% cash back from KickItBack on something cute like the Straw Cloche Hat for $12.94.

I love the idea of pairing it with Old Navy’s navy Poplin Romper for $34.94 and maybe even an open front cardigan to help keep the chill away in the evenings for $19.94.

Old Navy also has some really cute sunglasses that look great, and for just $9.94, I wouldn’t have to worry about dropping them in the lake! (Ugh. I hate that!)

Take Jenny’s advice: Shop with KickItBack to earn cash back on all of your Fourth of July purchases. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter for daily updates and scorching summer deals!
